Senior Systems Engineer, High Speed Data

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +23 more states.

📋 Description

• Deploy, upgrade, and maintain the High-Speed Data (HSD) infrastructure that supports essential Internet services.

• Oversee vendor solutions that facilitate core platforms, including DNS, DHCP, and DOCSIS provisioning.

• Ensure adherence to security policies while maintaining optimal system availability.

• Evaluate project requests to provide accurate time and cost estimates.

• Carry out on-call responsibilities, handle customer equipment escalations, and manage overnight network adjustments as assigned.

• Configure, oversee, and troubleshoot Linux systems, along with DNS and DHCP settings and DOCSIS provisioning.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Management Information Systems (MIS), or Computer Information Systems (CIS) from an accredited four-year institution.

• A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in a network engineering role is required.

• Prior experience in a Multiple System Operator (MSO) within the cable industry is preferred.

• Over 6 years of hands-on experience managing CentOS or RHEL environments.

• Proficient in Shell, Python, Perl, Docker, and/or Ansible for system automation and orchestration.

• More than 4 years of experience designing, deploying, and operating high-availability corporate and telecommunications networks.

• Proven expertise in advanced troubleshooting and applying industry-standard network security best practices.

• CCIE — Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert certification is preferred.

• CISSP — Certified Information Systems Security Professional certification is preferred.
