Senior Systems Engineer – Healthcare, Life Science

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the technical relationship for healthcare and life sciences initiatives, from initial discovery and demonstrations through proof of concepts and architecture approvals.

• Collaborate with account teams to assess opportunities and formulate technical strategies tailored for clinical, research, and regulated workloads, including medical imaging, genomics, drug discovery, and clinical trial data.

• Develop architectures that align with the requirements of regulated environments: data sovereignty, audit trails, disaster recovery, high availability, and secure multi-site collaboration.

• Establish credibility with healthcare IT, research informatics teams, compliance officers, and clinical application managers.

• Create and sustain the healthcare technical toolkit, which includes reference architectures, compliance documents, solution documentation, and competitive analysis.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in a customer-facing technical position (such as Systems Engineer, Solutions Architect, or Healthcare Solutions Engineer) within a software, storage, or technology company, with at least 4 years specializing in healthcare, life sciences, or pharmaceuticals.

• A solid foundation in unstructured data storage for regulated environments, focusing on imaging performance, lifecycle management, secure access, and archival methods, including NFS, SMB, and object storage.

• Familiarity with healthcare data workflows, including medical imaging (DICOM, PACS, VNA), electronic medical records (EMR), genomics and bioinformatics pipelines, clinical research data, or pharmaceutical manufacturing, as well as compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, GxP, and data retention standards.

• Proven experience in leading intricate pre-sales engagements from start to finish within regulated settings.

• Ability to effectively engage clinical, research, IT, compliance, and executive stakeholders in collaborative discussions.
