Senior Systems Engineer, Datacenter Cloud Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, maintain, and support both hybrid cloud and on-premises infrastructures.

• Oversee Microsoft Azure, Windows Server, Linux, Hyper-V, Nutanix, SAN storage, and other associated enterprise technologies.

• Conduct system upgrades, patching, monitoring, capacity management, and disaster recovery tasks.

• Diagnose and resolve intricate infrastructure incidents.

• Spearhead infrastructure modifications and offer technical support during critical situations.

• Engage in an on-call rotation for after-hours assistance.

• Develop automation and orchestration solutions for infrastructure management.

• Create and maintain scripts in PowerShell or Python.

• Collaborate with internal IT teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors.

• Ensure that infrastructure solutions adhere to company standards, security protocols, and industry best practices.

• Generate and maintain architecture diagrams, technical specifications, testing protocols, and operational documentation.

• Identify opportunities for enhancing performance, reliability, automation, and operational efficiency.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 10 years of experience in enterprise IT infrastructure, systems engineering, or datacenter services.

• Proficient in English with advanced verbal and written communication abilities.

• Extensive experience with hybrid cloud and on-premises environments.

• Advanced expertise in Microsoft Azure and Windows Server.

• Strong proficiency in Linux administration, preferably with SUSE, Red Hat, or RHEL.

• Experience with virtualization technologies such as Nutanix and Hyper-V.

• Familiarity with SAN storage and enterprise database environments.

• Experience using automation or orchestration tools like Azure DevOps, Puppet, or Ansible.

• Scripting skills in PowerShell or Python.

• Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP and DNS.

• Experience in supporting high-availability and business-critical infrastructure.

• Willingness to participate in an on-call support rotation.

• Preferred: Experience in supporting SAP environments.

• Preferred: Certifications related to hybrid cloud infrastructure, Microsoft Azure, Linux, Nutanix, or ITIL.

• Preferred: Experience collaborating with global and multicultural technology teams.

• Preferred: Background in disaster recovery, business continuity, and infrastructure resilience.
