Senior Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver engineering design, development, and systems integration assistance for DoW Power & Energy storage shipboard system acquisition initiatives.

• Create program documentation for systems development, testing, implementation, and lifecycle management for both existing and new power and energy systems.

• Analyze large-scale Li-ion battery performance parameters, devise failure modes, plan tests, develop fire mitigation and suppression strategies, prototype battery-agnostic containment solutions, and assess the viability of alternative energy storage systems.

• Provide engineering support and requirements development for electrical, mechanical, and system controls along with mitigation strategies for the system and its interfaces within the integrated shipboard environment.

• Aid in engineering investigations of power and energy systems, energy storage enclosures, and support processes, employing failure and material analysis techniques, including both non-destructive and destructive analysis for lithium-ion and silver-zinc chemistry energy storage systems, enclosures, and mitigation systems.

• Examine and evaluate commercially developed studies, analyses, assessments, and evaluations submitted to the Government.

• Assist with DoW acquisition and acquisition management activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with five or more years of relevant experience.

• Familiarity with DoW Systems Engineering processes.

• Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance, with the capacity to begin work upon grant of interim clearance. SAIC will facilitate the clearance process.

• US Citizenship is mandatory.

• Experience in preparing documentation for acquisition and lifecycle processes to support DoW systems.

• Proficiency in battery management and control systems, power supply systems, energy storage systems, batteries, and related technologies.

• Experience with Cameo.

• Familiarity with Directed Energy.
