This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.
• Lead and engage in the enterprise-level direction and strategic planning for Server/Network infrastructure.
• Research and assess both current and emerging technologies and methodologies, making recommendations for technology initiatives.
• Execute Server/Network architect responsibilities and contribute to strategic planning efforts.
• Analyze capacity, project growth needs, and keep abreast of technology and industry trends.
• Assess new technologies for their functionality, interoperability, reliability, availability, supportability, and return on investment.
• Suggest hardware, software, communication media, and enhancements to infrastructure.
• Take part in lifecycle replacement planning.
• Oversee a large and complex multi-segment wired and wireless network infrastructure, which includes firewalls, switches, access points, and internet connections.
• Design, develop, install, integrate, and maintain infrastructure utilizing various technologies, components, protocols, vendor products, and systems.
• Set network standards, naming conventions, and addressing protocols.
• Monitor and analyze network traffic and capacity usage to enhance performance and availability.
• Examine data to identify and resolve communication bottlenecks.
• Provide lead engineer direction and guidance, managing Server/Network upgrades and conversions.
• Formulate and recommend Server/Network contingency and disaster recovery plans.
• Create specifications for Server/Network hardware, software, cabling upgrades, and enhancements.
• Collaborate with IT Leadership to evaluate and recommend network and systems hardware and software.
• Develop and suggest standards, uses, and levels for cabling and connectivity.
• Assess and recommend software, tools, and utilities for monitoring and managing network performance and security.
• Create and maintain network documentation and reference resources.
• Conduct advanced troubleshooting and third-tier problem resolution for network hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
• Innovate and design internal solutions that facilitate scalability.
• Address third-level technical support and systems administration tasks escalated by Help Desk and partner teams.
• Plan, design, configure, implement, maintain, and support server hardware, software, and server management tools.
• Support strategic planning, disaster recovery, and redundancy efforts.
• Provide comprehensive project management documentation for major projects and strategic initiatives.
• A Bachelor's Degree is required.
• 5-10 years of experience in systems and network engineering, IT, or a related field.
• Possession of Industry Standard Technical Certifications (Cisco, Microsoft, VMware, ITIL).
• Strong understanding of systems and network engineering principles, methodologies, and tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Server Operating System(s): Administration, Configuration, and Support.
• Experience with networking protocols, hardware, and infrastructure, such as Cisco/Meraki, Fortinet, Juniper, or Aruba.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Detail-oriented and well-organized, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
