This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to design sophisticated multi-function RF, processing, networking, and/or data storage units for space applications employing systems engineering methodologies.
• Lead systems engineering initiatives on designated programs, encompassing systems analysis, management of technical baselines, development of requirements, and verification and validation processes.
• Act as the technical lead for systems engineering efforts and represent the systems engineering discipline during both internal and client-facing interactions.
• Prepare for and engage in significant internal and customer design reviews.
• Contribute to IR&D and new product development endeavors by providing systems engineering expertise.
• Assist in proposal initiatives for new business ventures.
• Offer systems engineering leadership and guidance to program teams.
• Work alongside program managers and project chief engineers to ensure effective program execution.
• Identify technical risks at an early stage and conduct in-depth analysis across mechanical, electrical, software, and firmware domains.
• Execute additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 6+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree, or 4+ years with a master's degree.
• Proven experience in leading the development and delivery of complex spaceflight or aerospace hardware from initial concept through qualification, production, and customer delivery.
• Strong technical proficiency in one or more engineering disciplines.
• Capability to collaborate across various technical domains.
• Proficient in applying systems engineering methodologies to product design and development.
• Ability to balance technical performance with budget and timeline goals.
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
• Advanced technical skills, sound judgment, and proactive problem-solving capabilities.
• Capacity to work independently with high-level objectives and manage diverse and complex challenges.
• Preferred: Master’s degree in a STEM field.
• Preferred: Experience with software-defined systems and the development life cycles of space-industry products.
• Preferred: Background in high-reliability, high-survivability, and/or space-environment applications.
• Preferred: Expertise in complex electronics product design, encompassing PCBAs, mechanical structures, mission software, and FPGA firmware.
• Preferred: Experience with Xilinx devices, including Zynq UltraScale+ or Versal architecture.
• Preferred: Familiarity with VPX standards (VITA 46 and VITA 65) and embedded hardware implementation.
• Preferred: Electronics design experience including schematic capture, PCB layout/routing, high-speed data design, mixed-signal analysis/design, and signal integrity analysis.
• Preferred: Background in signal processing and/or algorithm development.
• Preferred: Proficiency with CAD tools such as PSpice, LTspice, Altium, SOLIDWORKS, and Keysight ADS.
• Preferred: Experience with systems engineering tools like STK, MATLAB Simulink, requirements management/databases, and MBSE.
