Senior Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Engineer, construct, configure, and sustain OFR Windows, cloud, virtualization, and storage systems.

• Oversee Active Directory/Entra ID, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, permissions, and identity systems in hybrid setups.

• Manage Microsoft 365, encompassing Exchange Online, Teams, and OneDrive for Business.

• Administer and enhance VxRail/VMware/Horizon virtualization platforms, focusing on virtual machine setup, performance, availability, and disaster recovery.

• Maintain both physical and virtual servers, monitor performance, execute updates and backups, and handle security patches.

• Deploy and manage Windows systems utilizing PowerShell, scripting, and automation techniques.

• Oversee the deployment of desktops and laptops while managing Windows device patching, packages, deployment, and reporting.

• Generate system diagrams, configuration records, SOPs, troubleshooting guides, and reports on system performance or project status.

• Execute integration testing, transition, acceptance, and training from engineering to production environments.

• Facilitate system-interface activities in collaboration with contractors and government entities.

• Work in partnership with IT staff, departments, and vendors to address technical challenges; provide guidance and mentorship to junior IT and helpdesk personnel.

• Engage in IT planning and strategic discussions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in IT within an Active Directory environment.

• Proficient in a Microsoft 365 hybrid environment (both on-premises and M365).

• Skilled in Windows PowerShell scripting.

• Expert-level administration of Active Directory/Entra ID in a hybrid context.

• Experience with Okta installation, configuration, and migrations.

• Familiarity with certificate lifecycle management.

• Advanced Microsoft 365 administration skills.

• Experience managing and administering VxRail, VMware, and Horizon.

• Proficient in Windows systems administration leveraging PowerShell, scripting, and automation.

• Familiarity with ManageEngine tools (ADManager, ADAudit, AD360).

• Experience in deploying Windows Server in AWS cloud and VMware virtualized environments.

• Background in documentation, system diagrams, and SOP development.

• Experience in conducting integration testing, transition, acceptance, and training.

• Ability to coordinate activities at system interface boundaries with contractors and government organizations.

• Must be a U.S. citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident.

• Public Trust High (Tier 4/BI) risk-level clearance is required.

• Microsoft, VMware, and Okta certifications are preferred.

• Familiarity with BeyondTrust/Bomgar is an advantage.

• Experience with Windows Server 2019/2022 is preferred.

• Experience with Intune or other MDM solutions is preferred.
