Senior Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +45 more states.

📋 Description

• Diagnose and address a diverse array of technical challenges.

• Manage IT projects from inception to completion.

• Act as a senior technical expert and escalation point for intricate issues.

• Provide remote support and technical guidance.

• Mentor and support junior and mid-level engineers.

• Organize remote troubleshooting activities during critical incidents.

• Collaborate across various client environments and industries.

• Work in partnership with vendors and third-party service providers.

• Maintain professional and responsive communication with clients.

• Ensure effective internal communication through thorough documentation of work.

• Develop and sustain robust client relationships.

• Acquire, implement, and support emerging technologies.

• Assist in managing the ticket queue efficiently.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of practical IT experience in a professional support or MSP setting.

• Strong capability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues from Tier 1 to Tier 3 across various client infrastructures.

• Advanced knowledge of Windows Server (2016 and later).

• Comprehensive understanding of networking, including VLANs, routing, switching, VPNs, and firewall troubleshooting.

• Experience in managing and supporting firewalls such as Fortinet, Unifi, Sophos, SonicWall, or pfSense.

• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration.

• Experience in supporting cloud environments like AWS and/or Azure.

• Demonstrated ability to independently manage projects, priorities, and deadlines in a remote working context.

• Excellent leadership and communication abilities.

• Strong multitasking and organizational skills.

• Preferred certifications include CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco, or AWS credentials.
