Business Systems Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Conduct analyses of assigned business areas to create comprehensive definitions of workflows and identify needs currently addressed by existing or proposed solutions.

• Choose the most suitable analytical methods.

• Examine and assess information, forecasts, methods, schedules, systems, processes, and procedures, comparing them against service standards and best practices to uncover opportunities for enhancing efficiency or productivity.

• Advise management on alternative solutions and courses of action that align with the organization's objectives, which may include modifications to ineffective business systems and processes.

• Recognize and leverage opportunities to use computer system resources for data collection related to service or program business processes.

• Articulate the business case for new project objectives, including the identification of business requirements.

• Engage in business process engineering initiatives aimed at continuously improving operational efficiency.

• Assess potential solutions for business challenges.

• Create functional requirements and obtain stakeholder approval to ensure alignment with business needs.

• Execute other assigned responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, process improvement, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• A minimum of three (3) years of experience in business analysis or process improvement.

• Proficiency in relational database SQL language.

• Experience with common financial transactions, PO Systems, and/or journal entries.

• Costpoint experience is preferred.

• US Citizenship is mandatory.

• Familiarity with Cognos reporting is preferred.
