Senior Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Oversee the daily operations of diverse SaaS delivery environments

• Manage incident response and monitor the production service delivery environments

• Ensure optimal operation of services and applications while meeting SLAs

• Create and execute strategies for the administration and maintenance of the Acumatica SaaS deployment lifecycle operations

• Manage and maintain AWS environments in accordance with standard procedures

• Recognize and implement opportunities for optimization

• Address complex issues impacting service delivery throughout the environment

• Provide level 3 support for issues initiated by customers and partners

• Mentor and guide junior engineers

• Identify system deficiencies and propose innovative solutions

• Document forecasts, plans, and resolutions

• Foster innovation and introduce new tools, technologies, policies, and procedures

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and consistency across the organization

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience with relational databases, preferably MS SQL

• Proficient in database design and optimization

• At least 5 years’ experience managing websites, ideally using IIS

• Experience with the development and deployment of web applications

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in basic scripting, such as PowerShell or Python

• At least 1 year’s experience with DevOps tools and practices, including Jenkins and Git

• A minimum of 1 year’s experience with cloud platforms, such as AWS or Azure

• Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities

• Excellent troubleshooting skills with a strong focus on customer service

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure, just-in-time environment

• Experience with Accounting, ERP, or other business management software is advantageous

• Willingness to participate in a weekend on-call rotation
