This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Idaho.
• Accountable for programming, executing, and overseeing the engineering design, construction, installation, and continuous engineering support of facilities, systems, and technical policies and procedures.
• Collaborates with various internal teams to guarantee resource availability for projects, ensures standard tools are accessible for task completion, and monitors progress and processes.
• Coaches and mentors teams to foster ongoing capability enhancement and career advancement.
• Supervises the quality of products generated by team members to ensure high standards of work.
• Assigns and directs design engineering teams to fulfill technical and project requirements on schedule and within budgetary constraints.
• Facilitates technical interaction with clients regarding all project aspects, including meetings, presentations, and written correspondence.
• Maintains active involvement with the team and drives technical decisions as necessary to ensure sound engineering choices align with project demands.
• Reviews and approves engineering documents such as reports, drawings, and customer deliverables.
• Ensures that design reviews occur for projects involving design content in line with business processes.
• Assists in or leads proposal efforts, including market assessments, precise engineering scope definition, risk evaluations, and proposal writing.
• Develops, reviews, tests, troubleshoots, and refines system hardware and software requirements with both internal and external clients, while instructing others in these processes.
• Captures and specifies requirements; conducts feasibility studies, concept validation, prototyping, and designs, develops, tests, debugs, configures, maintains, and documents systems.
• Identifies, evaluates, and selects equipment suppliers and aids in the purchase requisition process.
• Creates and/or reviews design documentation for systems.
• Creates and/or reviews formal testing documentation for systems, including SCADA computers, PLCs, system health and redundancy, and system data acquisition.
• Integrates third-party hardware and software with company-developed software into respective systems.
• Supports deployed systems by diagnosing and resolving system-related issues.
• Adheres to established guidelines and procedures to ensure technical standards are maintained according to company criteria.
• Exhibits a strong customer focus by effectively listening to, recognizing, and responding to customer feedback in a timely and courteous manner.
• Proactively addresses problems and opportunities by anticipating and fulfilling customer needs and company expectations.
• Engages in process improvement activities.
• Over 10 years of professional experience.
• More than 2 years of experience in leading engineering teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Capacity to lead and manage others effectively.
• Ability to maintain a professional work schedule in an office setting.
• Proficient technical documentation skills, including strong oral and written communication abilities.
• Experience in developing proposals and bidding for projects.
• Capability to create practical conceptual designs for complex systems.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (less than 10%).
• Proficiency in PLC and DCS programming and design across a diverse range of control systems and SCADA equipment.
• Experience interfacing with field devices including thermocouples, RTDs, current loops, voltage, and discrete I/O.
• Ability to specify and select DCS/PLC instrumentation, including field instruments.
• Familiarity with analog and digital electronic circuits.
• Competence in troubleshooting issues with data acquisition systems, networks, and AC-DC wiring.
