This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise applications and infrastructure solutions hosted in AWS GovCloud IL4/IL5 environments.
• Create and uphold logical, physical, application, data, and security architectures that align with DoD requirements and enterprise architecture frameworks.
• Provide technical guidance in cloud engineering, platform operations, infrastructure modernization, configuration management, and release management activities.
• Establish architecture standards, develop technology roadmaps, and promote engineering best practices to support secure, scalable, and resilient operations.
• Conduct architecture reviews, technical design sessions, and engage with stakeholders, including government clients and executive leadership.
• Develop and maintain architectural artifacts, system diagrams, technical documentation, and implementation strategies.
• Ensure adherence to DoD cybersecurity requirements, Zero Trust principles, and cloud security standards.
• Identify and address technical risks related to architecture, performance, security, data management, and system integration.
• Mentor technical personnel and offer leadership across multidisciplinary engineering and operations teams.
• Effectively communicate complex technical concepts, recommendations, and architectural decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Active Secret security clearance is mandatory.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field is required.
• Over 10 years of experience in systems architecture, enterprise architecture, solution architecture, or systems engineering within federal or DoD environments.
• Proven experience in architecting and implementing enterprise systems within AWS GovCloud environments.
• Demonstrated success in leading enterprise modernization, systems integration, and cloud transformation projects.
• Experience in supporting mission-critical operational systems that manage sensitive or regulated data.
• Proven leadership in technical team management and coordination with government clients and stakeholders.
• Expertise in enterprise architecture frameworks, such as DoDAF, TOGAF, or equivalent frameworks.
• Experience in designing and implementing AWS cloud-based architectures, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of Agile, DevSecOps, CI/CD, and infrastructure automation practices.
• In-depth understanding of DoD cybersecurity, interoperability, and data standards, including NIST SP 800-53 RMF, Zero Trust Architecture, and DoD Cloud Security Requirements Guide (SRG).
• Familiarity with system integration patterns, APIs, networking, identity management, and cloud security architectures.
• Preferred certifications include TOGAF 9/10, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Security Specialty, DoD 8570/8140 certifications, CISSP, or CISM; these are highly preferred but not mandatory.
• Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
