Senior Systems Analyst, Mainframe

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Collect and document both functional and non-functional requirements for new project implementations and the support of medium- and high-complexity systems, engaging in discussions with requestors and various stakeholders;

• Conduct data modeling for projects of high complexity, determining necessary information and suitable storage solutions, while assisting other analysts with inquiries related to this task to ensure the integrity and availability of the data needed for the proposed solution to operate;

• Assist in defining the architecture and solution proposal by analyzing, detailing, and specifying the programs and components that will be included in the solution;

• Oversee testing and acceptance processes by developing test and acceptance plans, executing and monitoring unit tests, load tests, integration tests, and providing support for user acceptance;

• Plan and oversee deployment processes through risk assessment, creation of contingency and rollback plans, and identification of tasks, responsible individuals, and timelines for deploying solutions into production environments;

• Identify and implement workarounds and permanent solutions for issues by addressing requests, incident tasks, and occurrences, and proposing enhancements and corrections;

• Assist business units and other system development teams in feasibility and budgeting analyses by recommending solutions and evaluating impact and effort.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in developing COBOL/CICS/DB2 applications and COBOL batch jobs;

• Familiarity with security, authentication, and version control;

• Capability to extract functional and non-functional requirements;

• Experience in optimizing and querying DB2 databases.

• Additional experience in the following areas is a plus:

• Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services and infrastructure;

• DevOps pipelines and toolchains;

• .NET (C#);

• SQL Server;

• Agile methodologies;

• Banking systems;

• Systems architecture;

• Experience in integrating and modernizing legacy systems and microservices;

• Intermediate English proficiency.
