This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Collect and enhance stakeholder requirements, map workflows, and design Epic builds that align with operational objectives and policies.
• Develop and maintain specifications, decision logs, design documents, configuration documentation, and process documentation.
• Perform gap analyses for upgrades, regulatory changes, and new initiatives.
• Oversee smaller system implementation and upgrade projects utilizing waterfall or agile methodologies.
• Lead project teams and facilitate cross-functional collaboration.
• Configure Epic records, master files, profiles, rules, security classes, and workflows.
• Ensure environment parity and adhere to change-management and build-naming conventions.
• Create and execute unit, integrated, and UAT test plans; identify defects and document testing evidence.
• Validate interfaces, printing, reporting, downstream workflows, and regression coverage.
• Coordinate release management, environment transitions, and downtime procedures.
• Provide go-live and post-live hypercare, including rounding, office hours, tip sheets, and at-the-elbow support.
• Manage service requests and incidents, ensuring SLAs are met through triage and root-cause analysis.
• Offer advanced support for Epic, Workday, Kronos, and other applications.
• Integrate Epic and third-party systems with IT and clinical teams.
• Collaborate on HL7, FHIR, PDF, CCD/CCDA, Clarity/Caboodle, registry, and operational reporting workflows.
• Ensure data integrity and maintain consistent metric definitions.
• Support CMS, Joint Commission, audit, privacy, security, and policy requirements.
• Contribute to ITIL-aligned incident, problem, change, and configuration management.
• Design and implement tailored training programs.
• Govern and uphold the CareConnect curriculum and training environments.
• Communicate system releases and upgrades effectively.
• Manage, prioritize, assign, resolve, and document end-user training requests and incidents.
• Identify support trends and implement preventive enhancements.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, or a related discipline.
• Alternatively, 10+ years of experience in system analysis and support within a healthcare setting.
• At least 5–7 years of experience in system analysis and support within a healthcare environment.
• Experience with Epic applications and healthcare workflows.
• Strong skills in requirements gathering, workflow design, and testing.
• Familiarity with ITIL, change control, SDLC practices, system governance, and waterfall/agile methodologies.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clinical and operational stakeholders as well as managed service providers.
• Proficient in producing clear documentation.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex projects and leading cross-functional teams.
• Preferred: current Epic certification or proficiency in relevant modules.
• Preferred: 3+ years of experience in Epic build and configuration.
• Experience with system integration, HL7, FHIR, and interface testing.
• Exposure to SQL/Clarity, Caboodle, SlicerDicer, Radar, or Reporting Workbench.
• Previous experience in patient access, billing, coding, finance, or clinical operations.
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience is a plus.
• ITIL Foundation certification is desirable but not mandatory.
• Certifications in one or more Epic applications.
• Experience in a large healthcare system or hospital environment.
• Familiarity with other healthcare applications and systems.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards.
• Familiarity with AWS or Azure.
• Experience with business intelligence and analytics tools.
• An advanced degree in a related field is advantageous.
