Senior Systems Analyst – Homecare Billing, Hospital Billing, Hospital Claims

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, train, implement, and maintain Epic applications.

• Enhance clinical and operational workflows for efficiency.

• Collaborate with operational leaders and end users to convert business needs into Epic configurations, integrations, and reporting.

• Ensure the integrity and security of applications while upholding the application vision.

• Lead initiatives for process improvements related to Epic and associated third-party applications.

• Collect and refine stakeholder requirements, map workflows, and design Epic builds.

• Produce specifications, decision logs, design documents, and configuration/process documentation.

• Perform gap analyses for software upgrades, regulatory changes, and new projects.

• Oversee smaller system implementation and upgrade projects.

• Develop and sustain training programs, curricula, and training environments.

• Configure Epic records, master files, tools, workflows, and security classes.

• Create and implement unit, integrated, and UAT test plans; identify defects and document findings.

• Validate interfaces, printing, reporting, downstream workflows, and regression coverage.

• Manage release processes, environment transitions, and downtime protocols.

• Provide go-live support, post-live hypercare, rounding, office hours, tip sheets, and on-site assistance.

• Handle service requests and incidents, adhering to SLAs through triage and root-cause analysis.

• Offer advanced support for Epic, Workday, Kronos, and other applications.

• Work in conjunction with IT, clinical, interface, analytics, and operational teams on integrations, extracts, registries, and reporting.

• Ensure readiness for regulatory compliance, audits, privacy/security controls, and ITIL-aligned processes.

• Manage end-user training requests and incidents, implementing preventive enhancements.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, or a related discipline.

• 5–7 years of experience in system analysis and support within the healthcare sector.

• Alternatively, 10+ years of experience in system analysis and support in a healthcare setting without a degree.

• Familiarity with Epic applications and healthcare workflows.

• Demonstrated skills in requirements gathering, workflow design, and testing.

• Understanding of ITIL, change control, SDLC practices, system governance, and both waterfall and agile project methodologies.

• Ability to effectively communicate with clinical and operational stakeholders and managed service providers, producing clear documentation.

• Proven success in managing complex projects and leading cross-functional teams.

• For Application Training: Epic Training Environment Build certification, 3+ years of experience, and 2 Epic Application Principal Trainer certifications.

• For Application Build: current Epic certification or proficiency in relevant modules and 3+ years of Epic build/configuration experience.

• For Application Build: experience with system integration, HL7, FHIR, and interface testing.

• For Application Build: familiarity with SQL/Clarity, Caboodle, SlicerDicer, Radar, Reporting Workbench, or other reporting tools.

• Prior experience in patient access, billing, coding, finance, or clinical operations for respective modules.

• ITIL Foundation certification is preferred but not mandatory.

• Certifications in one or more Epic applications are required.

• Experience within a large healthcare system or hospital environment.

• Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards.

• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Azure.

• Experience with business intelligence and analytics tools.

• An advanced degree in a related field is an advantage.
