Senior Systems Analyst – HIM, ROI, DT, Coding, Identity

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, train, implement, and provide support for Epic applications.

• Collaborate with operational leaders and end users to transform business needs into Epic configurations, integrations, and reporting.

• Support patient safety, revenue cycle operations, regulatory compliance, and application service level agreements (SLAs).

• Uphold the application vision while ensuring the integrity and security of the application.

• Drive process enhancement initiatives for Epic and associated third-party applications.

• Collect and refine requirements, map workflows, and create Epic solutions.

• Generate and maintain specifications, decision logs, design documents, configuration documentation, and process documentation.

• Conduct gap analyses for upgrades, regulatory shifts, and new initiatives.

• Oversee smaller system implementation and upgrade projects utilizing waterfall or agile methodologies.

• Lead project teams and mentor junior analysts.

• Configure Epic records, master files, profiles, rules, security classifications, and workflows.

• Develop and execute unit, integrated, and user acceptance testing (UAT) plans; fix defects and document testing evidence.

• Validate interfaces, printing, reporting, downstream workflows, and regression coverage.

• Coordinate release management, environment transitions, and downtime protocols.

• Provide support during go-live, post-live hypercare, rounding, office hours, tip sheets, and on-site assistance.

• Manage service requests and incidents through triage and root-cause analysis while adhering to SLAs.

• Offer advanced support for Epic, Workday, Kronos, and additional applications.

• Collaborate with interface and analytics teams on HL7, FHIR, PDFs, CCD/CCDA, Clarity/Caboodle extracts, registries, and reporting.

• Ensure data integrity and consistent metric definitions.

• Support CMS and Joint Commission readiness, audits, policies, privacy, security controls, sensitive record handling, and audit trails.

• Contribute to ITIL-aligned incident, problem, change, and configuration management.

• Design and implement tailored training programs and oversee CareConnect curriculum governance.

• Maintain training environments and communicate system releases and upgrades.

• Manage, prioritize, assign, and resolve end-user training requests and incidents.

• Document resolutions, identify trends, implement preventative improvements, and enhance support processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in computer science, Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field, or 10+ years of experience in system analysis and support within a healthcare setting in lieu of a degree.

• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in system analysis and support within a healthcare environment.

• Experience with Epic applications and healthcare workflows.

• Strong skills in requirements gathering, workflow design, and testing.

• Familiarity with ITIL, change control, software development life cycle (SDLC) practices, system governance, and waterfall/agile project methodologies.

• Ability to communicate effectively with clinical and operational stakeholders and managed service providers while producing clear documentation.

• Proven history of managing complex projects and leading cross-functional teams.

• For the Application Training role: Epic Training Environment Build certification and 3+ years of relevant experience.

• For the Application Training role: 2 Epic Application Principal Trainer certifications.

• For the Application Build role: current Epic Certification or proficiency in one or more relevant modules.

• For the Application Build role: 3+ years of Epic build and configuration experience.

• For the Application Build role: experience with system integration, HL7, FHIR, and interface testing.

• Preferred: leadership or supervisory experience; knowledge of SQL/Clarity, Caboodle, SlicerDicer, or reporting tools; familiarity with healthcare operations; experience with healthcare applications and regulations; knowledge of cloud platforms; business intelligence and analytics tools.

• ITIL Foundation certification is desired but not mandatory.

• An advanced degree is a plus.

• Must be able to work from Ohio.
