Senior System Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Act as the Engineer of Record for small to mid-sized projects.

• Engineer complex projects that necessitate a diverse set of technical skills, including coverage and capacity design, microwave system analysis, RF LMR system and BDA design, WAN network design, and familiarity with Motorola ASTRO systems.

• Engage in regular and detailed discussions with customers and consultants to support design reviews, system staging and acceptance testing activities, coverage acceptance testing, live system upgrades, and troubleshooting efforts.

• Demonstrate professionalism through both written and verbal communication, a strong commitment to project and customer requirements, ownership of technical solutions, effective problem-solving, and adherence to project timelines.

• Collaborate closely with Project Management teams, Engineering teams, Technicians, and clients to ensure the successful execution of projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree in an engineering or technical field with a minimum of 3 years of engineering or technical experience, or at least 5 years of engineering or technical experience.

• Must possess legal authorization to work in the U.S. on an indefinite basis.

• Understanding of Basic RF Principles, including two-way radio operation, system components, and terminology.

• Knowledge of Basic IP Networking Principles such as LAN/WAN topologies, system components, and terminology.

• Experience with wireless systems that utilize FDMA and TDMA technologies.

• Familiarity with P25 Land Mobile Radio terminology and methods for provisioning/programming two-way subscriber radios.

• Awareness of P25 Interoperability solutions, including ISSI, Motorola WAVE, Critical Connect, and SmartConnect.

• Knowledge of Computer Aided Dispatch and public safety-related software applications.

• Experience with servers and associated computer systems, including VMware ESXI, Linux, and Microsoft operating systems.
