Senior System Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia.

📋 Description

• Assists in all facets of the architectures necessary for operational, technical, and informational purposes.

• Identifies customer needs and ensures that models effectively meet those requirements.

• Creates and articulates IT solutions based on the strategic business or technical demands of the enterprise.

• Establishes the methodology for structuring each application, including the appropriate use of technology solutions.

• Defines and verifies technical requirements and architecture quality attributes.

• Crafts high-quality architectures and leads architecture initiatives that align with organizational objectives set by leadership on behalf of stakeholders, adhering to enterprise architectural standards.

• Designs, develops, implements, and complies with enterprise cloud architecture application solutions, strategies, processes, and standards, with a focus on cloud technology expertise.

• Additionally, designs and maintains security measures to support CI/CD DevOps infrastructure.

• Oversees Information Technology applications projects, including the design, development, and implementation of IT architecture components.

• Develops and presents architectural proposals for various projects and initiatives.

• Formulates and coordinates IT strategy and supervises the implementation of integrated systems.

• Collaborates with business owners, Analysts, Engineers, development teams, and infrastructure services to define, establish, and communicate application and data architecture standards, policies, and directions.

• Maintains and assesses current equipment.

• Designs, develops, implements, and adheres to enterprise information technology and cloud architecture application solutions, strategies, processes, and standards, focusing on cloud technology expertise.

• Works with business owners, Analysts, Engineers, development teams, and infrastructure services to define, establish, and communicate application standards, policies, and directions.

• Designs, validates, and implements scalable system infrastructure.

• Evaluates and analyzes complex systems architecture to identify performance and efficiency enhancements.

• Crafts high-quality architectures and drives architecture initiatives that adhere to organizational requirements set by leadership on behalf of stakeholders and are consistent with enterprise architectural standards.

• May oversee cloud design initiatives, ensuring that the design takes into account organizational and security needs while facilitating the organization's objectives.

• Designs and validates enterprise security architectures aligned with Zero Trust and NIST SP 800-207.

• Leads the development of Engineering Design Documents (EDDs), architecture blueprints, and control mappings.

• Aids in the integration of SIEM, SOAR, CDM, TDSP, EDR, AWS cloud-native, and identity platforms across various cybersecurity tools.

• Provides guidance on modernization, cloud migration, and secure system design.

• Participates in architecture governance boards and technical working groups.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and over 12 years of experience in supporting Cybersecurity Information Technology.

• An AWS Solution Architect certification.

• More than 3 years of experience in supporting Cloud-Based solutions.

• At least possess an active Secret clearance.

• Experience in planning, managing, leading, and coordinating multiple concurrent tasks, each with strict deadlines for a large-scale cybersecurity design integrated with business-critical systems.

• Proven understanding of the software development/enhancement/maintenance lifecycle.

• Ability to execute complex technical tasks.

• Strong technical knowledge of cybersecurity deployment, functionality, and operation of security capabilities such as SIEM, EDR, CDM, penetration testing, DevSecOps, Identity and Access Management, and AWS GovCloud systems.

• In-depth knowledge of recent technological advancements in computer science and engineering.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Familiarity with EKS, ECS, and overall containerized environments.

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
