Senior System Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Act as a technical leader for enterprise infrastructure that includes Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, AWS, and key SaaS platforms.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders to create scalable and resilient solutions.

• Oversee outage response initiatives, coordinate efforts across teams, and communicate updates to stakeholders.

• Lead root cause analyses and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.

• Manage and sustain high-availability infrastructure across various locations and cloud environments.

• Spearhead infrastructure implementations, migrations, upgrades, and acquisition integrations from planning through to execution.

• Administer identity and access management systems, such as Active Directory, ADFS, and Microsoft Entra.

• Support enterprise data center compute, storage, networking, and disaster recovery systems.

• Mentor team members and simplify complex technical concepts into actionable insights.

• Create and maintain infrastructure documentation, standards, and operational procedures.

• Advocate for automation and identify opportunities for process improvements.

• Participate in 24x7 operational support as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of progressive experience in supporting enterprise IT infrastructure.

• Proven leadership in incident response and cross-team coordination.

• Demonstrated ability to operate and maintain high-availability environments.

• Extensive experience with Windows Server, Hyper-V, and VMware administration.

• Proficient in Active Directory, ADFS, and Microsoft Entra.

• Experience in managing Microsoft 365, Azure, and AWS environments.

• Background in supporting enterprise networking and telecommunications systems.

• Strong track record in leading root cause analysis and implementing preventive measures.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Capability to translate complex technical issues for diverse audiences.

• Ability to cultivate and maintain effective partnerships across teams.

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience (preferred).

• Experience in administering Palo Alto Networks firewalls.

• Familiarity with deploying and supporting Cisco Meraki networking solutions.

• Knowledge of network segmentation, zero trust principles, and enterprise security architecture.

• Familiarity with Intune and MaaS360.

• Exposure to compliance frameworks such as HIPAA, SOC 2, and NIST.
