Senior Substation Engineer – Grid

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Actively participate in project initiation, planning, and execution.

• Assist with complex tasks that involve investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving a diverse range of electrical engineering challenges.

• Create reports that effectively communicate technical and project information in a clear and succinct manner, adhering to client specifications and S&L standards.

• Potential travel to client locations may be required.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor of Science Engineering degree is mandatory.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the design of Medium Voltage Power Systems is required.

• Capability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects within budget and time limits.

• Experience in monitoring project metrics such as schedules and budget expenditures, as well as preparing status reports and liaising with clients.

• Strong interpersonal and written communication abilities.

• Background in reviewing design drawings produced by others.

• Proficiency in MS Office applications is essential.

• A Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering is preferred.

• Degree from an ABET accredited engineering program is necessary.

• At least 3 years of experience in the design of substations rated 138kV and above.

• Competence in preparing substation grounding calculations, direct stroke shielding calculations, battery and charger sizing calculations, etc.

• Experience in physical layout and protection & controls.

• Ability to collaborate with Designers to create substation single line diagrams, relaying and metering diagrams, DC schematic diagrams, and grounding plans.

• Familiarity with ANSI/IEEE/NEMA standards relevant to substation design.

• Possession of a PE license.

• Experience with AutoCAD is required.
