• Develop conceptual designs and implementation plans.
• Create engineering/project cost estimates and timelines.
• Conduct and document quality assessments for fellow engineers and designers.
• Generate construction drawings, documents, calculations, and studies for medium and high voltage substation projects.
• Oversee the technical execution of power delivery engineering projects or tasks.
• Prepare calculations, studies, and reports for substation and power systems projects that align with internal and client standards and requirements.
• Employ engineering design principles and practices, including relevant formulas.
• Collaborate and coordinate with small multi-disciplinary project teams (Civil, Structural, Physical, P&C, Transmission Line) to implement substation projects.
• Provide weekly updates to senior team leaders regarding milestone achievements, estimated completion dates, including the percentage of activity completion, and supporting information to track project progress.
• Over 7 years of experience in the Substation/Power Delivery sector.
• Proficiency in high voltage substation design (12kV to 500kV) tasks such as drafting one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, panel layouts, AC/DC schematics, wiring diagrams, physical layouts, electrical elevations, plans (equipment, grounding, and raceway), and bills of materials, including the selection of non-standard equipment.
• Capability to interpret and apply standards including IEEE, IEC, NESC, and client-specific standards.
• Strong preference for candidates with exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent organizational skills, and who are proactive and forward-thinking.
• Experience with power system calculations (such as AC station service, DC battery sizing, and Voltage Drop/Cable Selection) is advantageous.
• Familiarity with relay settings is a plus.
• Understanding of substation physical equipment is beneficial.
• Knowledge of Protection and Controls design is essential.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
