Energy Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Directly engage with clients to comprehend their operational objectives, recognize emerging needs, and propose customized energy efficiency and decarbonization solutions in line with industry trends.

• Conduct energy audits for commercial properties across New England and complete feasibility studies for renewable energy, particularly focusing on solar and geothermal systems.

• Enhance relationships with current utility and commercial/industrial clients while actively seeking opportunities to broaden services through collaboration with partners, subcontractors, and significant industry stakeholders.

• Oversee mid-sized consulting projects from inception to completion, which includes task planning, resource coordination, and supervising additional staff as necessary.

• Create and assess scopes of work, budgets, and project plans to ensure all milestones, deliverables, and financial objectives are achieved.

• Collaborate with internal and external teams to efficiently carry out project assignments with a high level of technical quality.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Industrial, Environmental, Architectural, or a related field; must be ABET accredited or equivalent).

• 3-5 years of professional experience in HVAC, renewable energy, utility, facility management, or the consulting sector.

• Solid understanding of thermodynamics, building energy efficiency, grid-responsive technologies, decarbonization technologies, and renewable energy.

• Practical experience with building mechanical systems, distributed energy resources, and electrification/decarbonization technologies.

• Strong project management abilities and proficiency with industry-standard tools and platforms.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to clarify complex technical concepts.

• Proactive, results-oriented mindset with a desire to grow beyond current expertise.

• Excellent organizational skills to facilitate travel and coordination of field activities.

• Capability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.

• Ability to comply with safety requirements and adhere to all safety regulations.
