Senior Structural Engineer, OpenSees, AI Training & Evaluation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Design realistic training tasks for AI based on principles of structural engineering and practical design challenges.

• Formulate clear problem statements related to engineering that encompass structural analysis, design, simulation, and adherence to codes.

• Create reference solutions and deterministic scoring criteria to assess AI-generated outputs.

• Develop engineering tasks utilizing OpenSees and other methodologies within structural engineering.

• Construct evaluation scenarios addressing topics such as: Pushover analysis, Seismic design, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Reinforced concrete design, Steel connection detailing, and Structural retrofit.

• Assess AI-generated engineering solutions for technical correctness, sound engineering judgment, and compliance with relevant design codes.

• Deliver structured feedback to enhance AI performance in the field of structural engineering.

• Operate independently in a fully remote and flexible work environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline (Master's or PhD is an advantage).

• Professional experience in both structural analysis and design.

• Practical experience using OpenSees.

• Strong knowledge of structural design standards such as ACI 318, AISC 360, or Eurocode (EN 1992, EN 1993, EN 1998).

• Familiarity with structural engineering concepts including nonlinear modeling, response spectrum analysis, pushover analysis, or performance-based design.

• Capability to produce clear, detailed, and technically precise engineering documentation.

• Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.

• Excellent written communication skills in English.

• Ability to work independently and effectively manage your own schedule.
