Senior Structural Engineer, OpenSees, AI Training & Evaluation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Chile.

📋 Description

• Design realistic training tasks for AI that focus on structural engineering principles and authentic design challenges.

• Develop clear problem statements that encompass structural analysis, design, simulation, and compliance with codes.

• Create reference solutions and defined scoring criteria to assess AI-generated outputs.

• Construct engineering tasks utilizing OpenSees and various methodologies in structural engineering.

• Formulate evaluation scenarios on topics including pushover analysis, seismic design, finite element analysis (FEA), reinforced concrete design, steel connection detailing, and structural retrofitting.

• Assess AI-generated engineering solutions for technical correctness, engineering judgment, and adherence to relevant design codes.

• Provide structured feedback aimed at enhancing AI performance in the field of structural engineering.

• Operate independently in a completely remote and flexible work environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field (Master's or PhD is advantageous).

• Professional experience in structural analysis and design.

• Practical experience with OpenSees.

• Comprehensive understanding of structural design standards such as ACI 318, AISC 360, or Eurocode (EN 1992, EN 1993, EN 1998).

• Familiarity with structural engineering concepts including nonlinear modeling, response spectrum analysis, pushover analysis, or performance-based design.

• Capability to produce clear, detailed, and technically precise engineering documentation.

• Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.

• Exceptional written communication skills in English.

• Ability to work independently and effectively manage your own schedule.
