Senior Structural Engineer – OpenSees, AI Training & Evaluation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design realistic AI training tasks that focus on structural engineering principles and real-world design challenges.

• Formulate clear engineering problem statements that encompass structural analysis, design, simulation, and adherence to code compliance.

• Develop reference solutions along with deterministic scoring criteria to assess AI-generated responses.

• Construct engineering tasks utilizing OpenSees and various structural engineering methodologies.

• Create evaluation scenarios that cover topics such as: Pushover analysis, Seismic design, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Reinforced concrete design, Steel connection detailing, and Structural retrofit.

• Evaluate AI-generated engineering solutions for technical correctness, engineering judgment, and conformity with relevant design codes.

• Offer structured feedback aimed at enhancing AI performance in the realm of structural engineering.

• Operate independently in a fully remote and flexible working environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field (Master's or PhD is advantageous).

• Professional experience in structural analysis and design.

• Practical experience with OpenSees.

• Strong comprehension of structural design standards such as ACI 318, AISC 360, or Eurocode (EN 1992, EN 1993, EN 1998).

• Familiarity with structural engineering concepts, including nonlinear modeling, response spectrum analysis, pushover analysis, or performance-based design.

• Capability to produce clear, detailed, and technically precise engineering documentation.

• Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.

• Excellent written communication skills in English.

• Ability to work autonomously and manage your own schedule effectively.
