This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Procure products associated with designated planner codes in a timely and cost-efficient manner
• Build, maintain, and enhance relationships with suppliers
• Identify and minimize extended lead times in the system by implementing material strategies with suppliers
• Review daily MRP exception messages, purchase order statuses, and order action reports, taking appropriate actions
• Resolve discrepancies in material pricing
• Identify alternative solutions for obsolete components and collaborate with engineering for approval
• Ensure prompt delivery of products to meet production requirements
• Maintain purchasing data in the computer system to ensure it is always updated
• Develop new, improved, or alternate supply sources to streamline the supplier base
• Utilize knowledge of technical specifications and market conditions to negotiate optimal pricing
• Manage purchase agreements involving confidential and proprietary information
• Negotiate favorable terms with suppliers; conduct material quotations for pricing and delivery
• Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with key suppliers as necessary
• Attend production meetings to assess supplier requirements
• Evaluate and provide performance metrics to existing suppliers, including quality and timely delivery
• Offer training and guidance to new and junior buyers on all facets of purchasing
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• At least 7 years of progressive, relevant work experience
• Prior experience in an electronics manufacturing setting is mandatory
• Intermediate understanding of purchasing laws
• Intermediate skills in MRP
• Ability to comprehend industry commodity trends
• Intermediate proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Capability to work with a high degree of precision and attention to detail to achieve quality outcomes
• Strong mathematical and computational abilities
• Proficient in effective communication in all forms with individuals both within and outside the organization
• Professional negotiation skills
• Ability to solve problems involving various factors and limited standardization
