This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Oversee, maintain, deploy, troubleshoot, and provide support for enterprise servers and storage systems for ALTESS and its clientele.
• Assist in the implementation of new hardware and software systems.
• Contribute to the development of local operating procedures and policies.
• Monitor ongoing system performance and generate utilization reports to identify issues and necessary corrective measures.
• Propose, showcase, and implement technologies aimed at expanding, upgrading, and enhancing the efficiency of the current infrastructure.
• Design, install, configure, secure, and uphold highly available enterprise data storage systems.
• Maintain policies and standards related to storage and networking.
• Refresh data between environments upon request from application development teams.
• Manage relevant storage networks.
• Provide support for backup software across Windows Server, Solaris, and RHEL/OEL Linux environments.
• Support mission-critical Army IT services across enterprise data centers and cloud-based environments.
• Occasionally travel to government facilities or data center locations based on mission requirements.
• CompTIA Security+ certification.
• Computing Environment (CE) Certification (e.g., MCSE, Server+, CCNA, RedHat, Palo); waivable for 30 days post project start date.
• Active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
• Background in Computer Science or IT.
• A minimum of three years' experience in the design, installation, configuration, security, and maintenance of highly available enterprise data storage systems.
• At least three years' experience in maintaining storage and network policies and standards.
• Three or more years' experience in refreshing data between environments at the request of application development teams.
• Three or more years' experience in creating, maintaining, and adhering to Standard Operating Procedures for repeatable processes, disaster recovery, and common issue resolution.
• Three or more years' experience with MS-Windows, Solaris, and RHEL/OEL Linux environments.
• Three or more years' experience in administering relevant storage networks.
• Three or more years' experience with VMware 7.x or later.
• Three or more years' experience with IP-based network communication.
• Experience in installing and configuring backup software with Windows Server 2019, Solaris 11, and RedHat Enterprise Linux 7 and above.
• Familiarity with Windows PowerShell and Bash shell scripting.
• Strong command line interface (CLI) skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong inclination to work collaboratively.
• Preferably seven or more years' experience in supporting Cybersecurity patch management, STIGs, SRG, RMF, SCA-V, and Cyber Operational Readiness Assessments (CORA).
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field is preferred; equivalent hands-on experience in enterprise storage administration may be considered in lieu of a degree.
