This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Concentrate on back-end architecture; designing, developing, and maintaining features of the SmithRx product using various programming languages including Golang, JavaScript/Typescript, Node, GraphQL, and SQL (among others), while utilizing full CI and CD for rapid iterations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and technical leads to understand functional and technical needs to produce high-quality, scalable software and services.
• Provide scope and risk assessments for system and feature builds by creating technical design documentation.
• Continuously implement software development best practices, design patterns, testing, automation, tools, and technologies.
• Utilize AWS technologies, such as Lambda and Fargate, to manage various job types and batch processing.
• Diagnose production issues by performing triages on arising problems, assessing their impact, devising and executing a plan for both short-term and long-term resolution, and conducting root cause analysis to prevent future occurrences.
• Coach and mentor junior team members in their assigned engineering projects by reviewing and providing feedback on their code, as well as conducting design and code assessments.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to transform technical vision into a concrete roadmap each quarter.
• Be a cornerstone of a collaborative learning culture by offering mentorship, conducting code reviews, exploring new technologies, and fostering other innovations.
• Bachelor's or advanced degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
• 12-15 years of software development experience focusing on server-side applications, particularly with API servers, third-party integrations, and data processing.
• Experience in a rapidly growing startup environment is advantageous.
• Proficiency in a compiled language such as Go, Java, or Kotlin is essential.
• Expertise with relational databases like PostgreSQL, including schema design, SQL optimization, and database monitoring is required.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing scalable APIs; a strong understanding of design patterns, database design, and testing best practices.
• Familiarity with GraphQL APIs, CI and CD pipelines, the AWS platform, Docker, and Kubernetes is a plus.
• A positive, non-dogmatic, team-oriented attitude.
• Adaptability; someone who is responsive and comfortable with ambiguity.
• Highly disciplined in software design and development with the ability to work independently on features (accurately forecasting delivery milestones and coordinating with stakeholders to meet expectations).
