Principal Engineer – Platform Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Architect and guide the advancement of the Kubernetes platform strategy across both cloud and on-premises settings, supporting mission-critical workloads at scale.

• Spearhead the design and execution of platform features that enhance reliability, security, scalability, and developer productivity for numerous engineering teams.

• Collaborate with engineering, security, and product leaders to outline multi-year platform roadmaps and ensure the successful execution of essential company initiatives.

• Offer technical leadership during significant incidents, architecture assessments, platform transformations, and strategic infrastructure investments.

• Mentor senior engineers and elevate the engineering standards through technical leadership, design evaluations, operational excellence, and architectural direction.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 15 years of experience in designing, building, and managing large-scale distributed systems in production settings.

• More than 7 years of practical experience in operating Kubernetes platforms in production, including multi-cluster setups.

• Proficient in architecting and managing cloud-native infrastructure across AWS, Azure, GCP, or hybrid cloud environments.

• Skilled in designing, operating, and troubleshooting networking architectures for extensive Kubernetes platforms.

• Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code and GitOps technologies, such as Terraform and ArgoCD or comparable platforms.

• Strong software engineering background with Go, Python, or similar programming languages utilized for automation and platform development.
