This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of one of Hello Heart’s device product lines from inception to end-of-life.
• Act as the technical systems leader encompassing hardware, firmware, manufacturing, validation, connectivity, and field performance.
• Guide cross-functional collaboration involving Engineering, Product, Hardware Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory, Clinical, Manufacturing, and external stakeholders.
• Facilitate executive-level tradeoff decisions regarding performance, reliability, manufacturability, cost, schedule, quality, and user experience.
• Oversee product planning, execution reviews, risk management, and milestone achievement.
• Collaborate with suppliers, engineering firms, and contract manufacturers to provide high-quality devices at scale.
• Enhance and refine manufacturing diagnostics, calibration, production testing, factory automation, and traceability.
• Lead investigations into root causes across hardware, firmware, manufacturing, cloud systems, suppliers, and field data.
• Utilize artificial intelligence and automation to boost engineering productivity, technical decision-making, manufacturing readiness, and operational execution.
• Mentor engineers and foster organizational capability within Hello Heart’s device platform.
• Over 12 years of experience in developing connected hardware, embedded systems, or medical device products, including guiding products from concept through commercialization and maintenance.
• Strong background in embedded systems, electronics, systems engineering, and product architecture.
• Familiarity with connected device development, covering hardware, firmware, connectivity, manufacturing validation, production readiness, and field performance.
• Experience with engineering validation testing, design validation testing, production validation testing, production ramp-up, and sustaining engineering.
• Proven track record of working directly with contract manufacturers, suppliers, engineering partners, and manufacturing teams.
• Excellent program leadership, executive communication, and technical decision-making abilities.
• Experience in building scalable device platforms, rather than just individual products.
• Background in regulated or quality-driven environments, preferably in medical devices, digital health, healthcare technology, or other high-reliability hardware sectors.
• Knowledge of product lifecycle management, issue tracking, manufacturing testing, quality systems, and engineering documentation tools.
