This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and enhance thermal performance analytics within the APM Performance Intelligence suite.
• Address heat-rate, efficiency, degradation monitoring, and operational performance for combined cycle power plants, gas turbines, steam cycles, and HRSGs.
• Design and implement comprehensive integration across historian data services, analytics engines, engineering models, visualization applications, and Edge computing platforms.
• Create, validate, and optimize Python-based thermal models, including component-level models using frameworks like TESPy.
• Calibrate thermal models utilizing real plant operating data across both design and off-design conditions.
• Architect scalable data flows among plant control systems, historians, Edge infrastructure, and cloud applications.
• Ensure secure and dependable Performance Intelligence deployments.
• Develop intelligent automation and AI-assisted workflows for analytics execution, KPI validation, diagnostics, and root cause analysis.
• Facilitate technical discussions, architecture reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions across global engineering teams.
• Guide colleagues in software development, thermal modeling, and Edge analytics best practices.
• Assist customer deployments from configuration and integration testing through to production support and post-deployment stabilization in cloud and Edge environments.
• 8–12 years of experience in performance engineering, thermal engineering, power plant analytics, industrial software development, or a closely related engineering field.
• Proficient programming skills in Python.
• Experience in creating engineering applications, data processing pipelines, and scientific computing solutions.
• Strong foundational knowledge in thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and principles of power plant performance engineering.
• Familiarity with plant historian systems, time-series data processing, and industrial data integration platforms.
• Experience in integrating engineering applications using REST APIs, microservices, and contemporary backend architectures.
• Proficient with Git, Linux, Docker, containerization, and CI/CD pipeline practices.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Successful completion of a drug screen, if applicable.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related STEM field is preferred but not mandatory.
• Preferred: experience in developing and deploying analytics on Edge platforms.
• Preferred: familiarity with OPC-UA, MQTT, or similar industrial IoT technologies.
• Preferred: knowledge of AI/ML techniques, digital twins, automation agents, or Generative AI applied to industrial or engineering use cases.
