This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +4 more states.
• Gather data and utilize data science methodologies, such as data wrangling, profiling, visualization, and statistical inference, to reveal actionable insights and create analytics solutions.
• Facilitate decision-making and strategic planning through data science initiatives.
• Design, uphold, and improve enterprise AML/CTF models and AI solutions.
• Assist with AML/CTF strategies, regulatory compliance, internal policies, initiatives for emerging risks, and adherence to industry best practices.
• Collaborate on customer rating, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, emerging risk assessment, model performance oversight, analytics, and reporting.
• Grasp the business context and data infrastructure, translating business challenges into effective data science solutions.
• Extract and prepare data, apply statistical methods and advanced analytics, and generate insights from large datasets.
• Visualize findings and relay analytical results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Work alongside data and business analysts, software engineers, data engineers, and application developers to implement scalable data science solutions.
• Enhance business processes through insights, hypothesis testing, and statistical validation.
• Educate the organization on the principles of data science and its mathematical foundations.
• Engage in cross-functional and enterprise initiatives as a subject matter expert.
• Monitor service levels, productivity, efficiency, performance, risk, and governance, implementing improvement or remediation plans where necessary.
• Foster relationships across various business lines, corporate functions, and control functions.
• Observe emerging issues, trends, and regulatory developments, assessing their impacts.
• Keep stakeholders updated on project advancements and relevant daily information.
• Contribute to team development through mentorship, knowledge sharing, and best practices.
• Uphold a risk management and control culture that aligns with the organization's risk appetite.
• Candidates must be either a US Citizen or possess a US Resident Green Card authorization.
• Must not currently require or anticipate needing TD sponsorship in the future.
• An undergraduate degree or advanced technical degree is preferred; a graduate degree is highly favored.
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or progressive project work experience in conjunction with a graduate degree.
• Advanced education and research tenure can be counted as experience.
• A graduate degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field is preferred.
• Academic research experience may be deemed equivalent to industry experience.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL programming is required.
• Practical experience with advanced quantitative analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning is essential.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to convey analytical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with LLM prompt engineering and performance evaluation is advantageous.
• Knowledge in financial crime, anti-money laundering, sanctions screening, watchlist screening, or compliance risk analytics is a plus.
• Familiarity with Responsible AI and model governance is a plus.
• Capable of working independently within a specialized business management function.
• Competence in completing complex projects and initiatives that require specialized knowledge or cross-functional integration.
• Ability to perform end-to-end tasks effectively.
• Understanding of business context, data infrastructure, and business requirements is essential.
• Capacity to collaborate with analysts, engineers, and application developers.
• Ability to comply with enterprise frameworks, internal and external requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Proficient in managing stakeholder relationships and supporting risk management and controls.
• Base salary ranging from 76,290.00 to 125,260.00 USD.
