Senior Staff Data Infrastructure Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Spearhead and participate in architectural projects aimed at enhancing the scalability and cost-effectiveness of our Federal environment.

• Act as the primary technical escalation resource for Data Infrastructure challenges in a FedRAMP context.

• Work closely with the Data Infrastructure team to improve and validate Disaster Recovery (DR) plans.

• Maintain the health and performance of essential stateful systems (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Kafka) while adhering to strict compliance requirements.

• Collaborate with security teams to establish necessary controls, such as automated certificate management, enforcement of network policies, and routine security patching.

⛳️ Requirements

• US Citizenship is required due to federal access regulations.

• Over 7 years of experience in Infrastructure or Platform Engineering, SRE, or DevOps, with a specialization in data-intensive systems.

• Demonstrated experience supporting high-scale stateful infrastructure in a production environment.

• Comprehensive, hands-on knowledge of at least one major relational database (e.g., PostgreSQL), one streaming platform (e.g., Kafka), and open-lakehouse technologies (e.g., Spark, EMR, Hive, Trino).

• Strong practical experience in troubleshooting production issues within Linux environments and managing AWS infrastructure.

• Proficient not only in deploying to K8s but also in debugging it—possessing an understanding of networking, resource scheduling, and complex operator patterns.

• Expertise in Terraform, Helm, or similar tools for reproducible infrastructure management.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
