Senior Staff AI, Agentic Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Create and implement production-quality multi-agent frameworks, intricate orchestration layers, and tailored AI developer tools.

• Balance the urgency of rapid prototyping with the need for long-term sustainability, understanding precisely when to prioritize speed for concept validation and when to take the time to establish solid architectural foundations.

• Integrate and navigate a variety of commercial and open-source large language models, choosing and optimizing the appropriate models for specific agentic functions.

• Demonstrate leadership by effectively utilizing advanced AI coding tools to enhance productivity, while establishing best practices for AI-assisted engineering within the team.

• Develop and apply rigorous frameworks for benchmarking, prompt engineering, and assessing agent reliability, latency, and accuracy.

• Establish engineering standards for code quality and system performance, mentoring fellow engineers, and serving as a vital link between research and product development.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of professional software engineering experience, especially in dynamic environments where you have delivered complex systems from the ground up.

• A demonstrated ability to assess technical debt. You are skilled at launching an MVP in a matter of days, yet you also understand how to design a clean API boundary to ensure that initial speed does not hinder future scalability.

• More than 2 years of hands-on production experience specifically in developing autonomous workflows, custom tools, and agentic systems.

• Extensive familiarity with various LLMs and orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, or similar tools).

• Previous experience in early-stage startups, indicating your comfort with uncertainty, ability to pivot swiftly based on data, and strong focus on execution.

• Proficient in building software using advanced AI coding tools (such as Cursor, Copilot, or custom LLM extensions) to significantly accelerate delivery.

• Skilled in writing clean, high-performance code in languages like Python or Go, with a solid understanding of distributed backend systems.
