Software Engineer, Embedded/Network Systems I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.

• Design and sustain essential software and tools that ensure hardware compatibility, enhance network performance, and secure Cisco’s core products.

• Participate in the advancement of cutting-edge innovations in operating systems, firmware, networking stacks, and security frameworks.

• Acquire practical experience with hardware-software integration and low-level networking technologies.

• Work collaboratively with global teams to create solutions that revolutionize global connectivity and communication.

⛳️ Requirements

• Completion of a certification or relevant degree program within the last 3 years, or current enrollment with an anticipated completion within 12 months, such as an Associate’s, Apprenticeship, Boot Camp, or Certification in a specialized program + 1 year of relevant experience, or High School Diploma + 2 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree + 0 years of relevant experience.

• Proficient in C programming with experience in embedded Linux.

• Familiarity with networking principles and concepts, including routing protocols and general networking methodologies.

• Practical experience with automation tools and scripting languages, such as Python or Bash.

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, including Jenkins and GitHub Actions.

• Understanding of DevSecOps methodologies.
