Senior Staff Accountant, Journal Entry

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Take charge of journal entry preparation and manage the month-end closing process for around two designated hospital facilities.

• Collaborate with Site Liaisons and facility finance teams to guarantee precise and prompt financial reporting.

• Prepare, review, and post journal entries, covering accruals, prepaids, amortizations, and recurring monthly entries.

• Thrive in a fast-paced month-end closing environment and adhere to established closing timelines.

• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, account analyses, and variance investigations.

• Analyze financial activities and examine discrepancies utilizing Oracle reporting tools and other financial systems.

• Work alongside accounting leadership, technical accounting, and operational finance teams to address accounting inquiries.

• Utilize Excel extensively to facilitate accounting processes and reporting.

• Identify chances for automation, standardization, and ongoing process enhancement.

• Provide support to the team and share knowledge.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.

• Over 5 years of progressive experience in the accounting field.

• Proficient in preparing and posting journal entries within a month-end closing environment.

• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, accruals, prepaid expenses, amortization schedules, and account reconciliations.

• Experience in managing various priorities and meeting strict monthly closing deadlines.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and financial data analysis.

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
