This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Generates timely, precise, and trustworthy financial statements along with necessary documentation; enhances efficiency and improvements in the month-end closing process.
• Manages and reconciles the general ledger and sub-ledgers on a monthly basis, prepares account reconciliations, and addresses discrepancies; account reconciliations encompass cash accounts, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, prepaids, and accruals.
• Oversees the fixed asset sub-ledger, ensuring that capital expenditures are appropriately supported and classified, reviews additions and disposals, and calculates and records monthly depreciation/amortization.
• Evaluates financial results and variances against budget or forecasts.
• Assists with audits by providing required documentation and analyses while meeting deadlines.
• Detects accounting and/or process-related issues, proposes, and implements solutions.
• Aids in tax preparation and filings.
• Compiles ad hoc reporting requests.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
• Previous experience in a $100M+ mid-market company and accounting department is essential.
• Familiarity with financial statement preparation, analysis, and reporting, including month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal control frameworks.
• Experience with the legal/court system is advantageous.
• Background screening experience is preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or comparable software is mandatory.
• Familiarity with relevant business management systems such as general ledger, HRIS, CRM, etc., is desirable.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field is required.
• A Master’s degree is preferred.
• Certifications or licensure: CPA designation is preferred.
• If performing any work-related driving while at Asurint, a valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain a driving record satisfactory to the company’s liability insurance carrier is necessary.
• Relevant experience: 4 to 5 years is required; 6 to 8 years is preferred.
• Experience in a supervisory role: None required.
