Hedge Fund Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Providing timely assistance with net asset value calculations for the designated client portfolio, which encompasses:

• Preparing and documenting capital activities and distributions

• Maintaining the general ledger

• Recording and reconciling investment activities

• Conducting cash reconciliations

• Ensuring that fund income and expenses, including management and performance fees, are accrued properly and comply with relevant accounting standards and offering documents

• Processing all transactions related to investors (e.g., subscriptions and redemptions)

• Preparing investor statements and contract notes

• Drafting financial statements

• Reviewing security prices for accuracy and confirming that corporate actions are correctly represented

• Assisting with year-end audits and tax reporting in collaboration with clients and auditors

• Addressing ad-hoc reporting requests as needed by clients

⛳️ Requirements

• Previous experience in Fund Accounting is preferred, though not mandatory

• A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration is essential

• Strong understanding of accounting principles

• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel

• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities

• Strong organizational skills

• Some familiarity with various investment types (such as equities, bonds, options, etc.)

• Capability to manage multiple demands, prioritize competing tasks, and adapt to continual changes

• Ability to effectively allocate time and meet tight deadlines across various responsibilities
