Senior SSIS Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain SSIS packages for enterprise ETL and data integration.

• Create ETL solutions to extract, transform, and load data from various source systems.

• Enhance and support existing SSIS interfaces and integrations.

• Diagnose SSIS package failures, data issues, and incidents in production.

• Develop and optimize intricate SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, views, and database objects.

• Integrate data from SQL Server, Oracle, flat files, CSV/Excel files, and SFTP locations.

• Implement error handling, logging, auditing, notifications, and mechanisms for restart/recovery.

• Schedule and monitor SSIS jobs utilizing SQL Server Agent.

• Conduct performance tuning for SSIS packages and SQL queries to handle high-volume data processing.

• Perform impact analysis, effort estimation, code reviews, and technical documentation.

• Assist in deployments across development, UAT, and production environments.

• Provide L2/L3 production support, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes for recurring issues.

• Collaborate with functional teams, application teams, DBAs, and business stakeholders.

• Mentor junior developers and offer technical guidance as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7–9 years of overall IT experience with substantial hands-on expertise in SSIS and SQL Server.

• Extensive experience in ETL development, data integration, and data migration.

• Advanced knowledge of T-SQL and Microsoft SQL Server.

• Proficient in stored procedures, functions, views, joins, indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning.

• Practical experience with SSIS Data Flow Tasks, Control Flow Tasks, Lookup, Merge, Conditional Split, Derived Column, Execute SQL Task, Script Task, and File System Task.

• Familiarity with SSIS configurations, parameters, variables, connection managers, and deployment models.

• Experience in implementing logging, exception handling, audit controls, and failure/restart mechanisms.

• Experience with SQL Server Agent jobs and scheduling tasks.

• Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and production support experience.

• Familiarity with SSIS integration with Oracle and various heterogeneous data sources.

• Experience with SFTP and automated file-based integrations.

• Proficient with Git, Azure DevOps, or other source-control and CI/CD tools.

• Exposure to Azure Data Factory (ADF).

• Experience in Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.

• Knowledge of ITIL processes, including Incident, Problem, and Change Management.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to independently resolve intricate technical and production challenges.

• Effective coordination with technical, functional, business, and client teams.

• Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
