This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.
• Oversee the complete monthly payroll processing for Spain and Portugal, ensuring accuracy, punctuality, and adherence to local regulations and collective bargaining agreements.
• Validate payroll data inputs (including hires, terminations, changes, bonuses, leaves, allowances, shifts, etc.) and reconcile payroll outputs received from external providers.
• Serve as the primary liaison for external payroll vendors, monitoring service quality, service level agreements (SLAs), handling escalations, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with labor laws, social security regulations, taxation, and internal payroll controls while supporting both internal and external audits as needed.
• Prepare, analyze, and validate monthly payroll reports for HR, Finance, and management stakeholders.
• Offer expert assistance to employees, HR Business Partners, Finance, HRIS, and Legal on matters related to payroll, benefits, taxation, and time & attendance.
• Lead initiatives for process enhancements, standardization, and digital transformation of payroll activities, ensuring alignment with global standards where applicable.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• A minimum of 5 years of payroll experience in Spain; familiarity with payroll in Portugal is considered a significant advantage.
• In-depth knowledge of Spanish labor law, social security, taxation, and payroll compliance.
• Demonstrated experience collaborating with external payroll providers (e.g., ADP, SD Worx, or similar entities).
• Extensive experience with HRIS and payroll systems (such as Workday, SAP HR, Meta4, or similar), with advanced Excel skills being preferred.
• Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Outstanding communication skills, a service-oriented mindset, and the ability to maintain confidentiality, along with fluency in both Spanish and English.
