This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +4 more states.
• Conducting research, drafting, and sustaining clear, up-to-date, and practical legal know-how content that caters to the needs of startup companies for Practical Law and other Thomson Reuters products and initiatives, aligning with market practices, customer needs, and business objectives, utilizing a range of evolving tools, formats, and content creation methods.
• Keeping abreast of legal, practice, and market developments that impact startups to ensure personal expertise and that our content remains accurate and relevant.
• Leveraging your legal knowledge to aid in the development of customer-centric AI-powered tools by identifying and implementing strategies that bridge content creation and AI-driven legal solutions.
• Collaborating with Product Management to foster innovation in technology development, product enhancements, and the integration of AI into Thomson Reuters' offerings.
• Applying your legal expertise and writing capabilities to assist in the creation and utilization of internal AI editorial tools.
• Building and nurturing relationships with external law firm contributors and industry organizations to guarantee that content mirrors market practices and satisfies customer demands.
• Assisting sales, marketing, and other business divisions, including addressing customer inquiries.
• Juris Doctor (JD) is mandatory.
• At least eight (8) years of experience as a lawyer in a law firm or in-house, with substantial experience working with startup companies.
• Strong technical aptitude with the capability to effectively employ various tools, including generative AI technologies, to boost productivity and precision.
• Proven adaptability and flexibility to engage in a variety of projects and tasks within the generative AI domain and other emerging technologies.
• A profound curiosity regarding the growing intersection of AI and legal practice, coupled with a desire to develop legal prompt engineering skills and innovative content creation techniques that enhance AI responses for specific legal tasks.
• Awareness of current market issues and proposed changes to laws and regulations affecting US startups.
• Insight into the needs and priorities of law firm attorneys, in-house counsel, and other startup professionals.
• A talent and enthusiasm for writing, with the ability to clearly and concisely articulate complex legal issues in plain English.
• An innovative, agile thinker with exceptional time management, organizational abilities, and proven project management skills.
