Senior Special Structural Analysis Engineer 2 – Nuclear

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with structural engineers and interact with engineers from various disciplines.

• Mentor and oversee the activities of less experienced project team members.

• Engage in engineering projects for new nuclear facilities as well as upgrades and modifications to existing nuclear power plants.

• Utilize knowledge of materials, structural analysis, structural steel design, and reinforced concrete design.

• Prepare and review design calculations.

• Develop specifications.

• Assist designers in the development of drawings.

• Provide guidance to others in creating engineering deliverables.

• Conduct structural analysis of safety-related structures under seismic, impact, and impulsive loading conditions using computer tools.

• Possible travel to client and vendor offices for design review purposes.

• Possible travel to plant sites for construction coordination and field verification of designs.

⛳️ Requirements

• MS degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.

• A minimum of seven years of experience as part of a project team in the design and analysis of structures.

• Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP2000, STRUDL, SASSI, ANSYS, or LS-DYNA.

• Familiarity with analysis and design codes and standards including ASCE 4, ASCE 43, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Authorization to work in the U.S.; the employer does not sponsor work authorization for employees in the U.S.
