Telco Engineer – Tieto Tech Consulting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Deliver Level 1 network support for voice and mobile services around the clock.

• Facilitate reactive repair efforts in collaboration with customers, suppliers, and global third parties.

• Monitor and analyze fraud incidents through fraud detection systems, QoS tools, and various internal resources.

• Determine root causes and implement resolution strategies.

• Develop and execute enhancements in fraud prevention services provided to BICS customers.

• Engage with customers and suppliers to ensure prompt complaint resolution while adhering to service level agreements (SLAs).

• Collaborate with leading telecom operators and technology vendors to maintain the quality, reliability, performance, and security of international communications.

• Contribute to an agile end-to-end development process.

• Learn from and mentor peers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Telecom, or a related field.

• Over 3 years of experience in operating mobile or fixed networks as an engineer.

• Familiarity with the structure of GSM networks.

• Understanding of signaling protocols in GSM networks.

• Knowledge of MTP, ISUP/SIP, SCCP, and TCAP protocol stacks.

• Awareness of voice call/SMS flows and principles of IP network functionality.

• Insight into the fraud prevention sector and wholesale telecom business is advantageous.

• Experience with signaling protocol monitoring tools, protocol analyzers, and trace analysis.

• Proficiency in network KPIs and analyzing statistics and reports.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Readiness to travel internationally as needed.
