Senior Solutions Engineer, Aerospace & Defense

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Account Executives to foster account growth and retention.

• Identify, clarify, analyze, organize, and implement significant projects.

• Accompany Account Executives on customer onsite visits as necessary.

• Proactively recognize and resolve potential manufacturing issues, including Design for Manufacturability (DFM).

• Keep updated on customer projects and initiatives to align with Xometry's offerings.

• Collect customer insights and feedback to shape sales strategies.

• Support Pre-Sales Engineering by gathering information and assembling accurate, competitive quotes.

• Integrate knowledge from customers, partners, and the Xometry system to meet customer needs and guide projects to completion.

• Manage and oversee complex project opportunities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of relevant experience in aerospace and defense engineering and manufacturing positions.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is mandatory.

• Experience utilizing Xometry’s services from a customer viewpoint; experience from a partner perspective is advantageous.

• Extensive knowledge of the methods, materials, culture, and products within aerospace and defense sectors.

• Strong grasp of manufacturing principles, including technical drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT).

• Particularly robust experience in CNC machining; familiarity with composites, plastics, harnesses, and sheet metal fabrication is a plus.

• Knowledge of ISO9001, AS9100D, ITAR, NIST, and other prevalent compliance and certification standards.

• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities, even in remote/digital settings.

• Willingness to travel to customer and/or partner locations as required; typical travel is between 25%-35%.

• Preference for candidates residing in Mountain or Pacific time zones.

• Familiarity with CRM systems, such as Salesforce.

• Competence in Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.
