Senior Solutions Engineer – Aerospace & Defense

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Account Executives to enhance account growth and retention.

• Identify, clarify, plan, and implement significant projects.

• Accompany Account Executives on onsite customer visits when appropriate.

• Proactively recognize and tackle potential manufacturing issues, including Design for Manufacturing (DFM).

• Remain updated on forthcoming customer projects and initiatives to ensure alignment with Xometry's capabilities.

• Collect customer insights and feedback to guide sales strategies.

• Support Pre-Sales Engineering with knowledge acquisition, analysis, and the preparation of accurate and competitive quotes.

• Integrate customer, Xometry partner, and Xometry system knowledge to meet customer requirements and facilitate project delivery.

• Oversee project management on complex opportunities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of pertinent experience in aerospace and defense engineering and manufacturing roles.

• A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is mandatory.

• Experience utilizing Xometry’s services from a customer viewpoint.

• Extensive knowledge of the methods, materials, culture, and products within aerospace and defense sectors.

• Strong grasp of manufacturing principles, including technical drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT).

• Particularly robust experience in CNC machining.

• Familiarity with ISO9001, AS9100d, ITAR, NIST, and other essential compliance and certification standards.

• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities, extending into remote and digital environments.

• Willingness to travel to customer and/or partner sites as required; typical travel ranges from 25% to 35%.

• Preference for candidates in Mountain or Pacific time zones.

• Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems such as Salesforce.

• Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.
