Senior Solutions Architect, Databricks

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hungary.

📋 Description

• In the role of Senior Solutions Architect, you will be instrumental in defining the future of big data for leading Fortune 500 companies.

• This senior role, which interacts directly with customers, demands significant expertise in Apache Spark along with a wide array of experience in big data solution architecture.

• Each week, you will collaborate with customers on architecture, design, and implementation, ensuring their technical roadmap is strategically aligned with the growth of the Databricks platform.

• As part of the architect team, you will continuously refine your technical skills through mentorship, ongoing education, and internal training initiatives.

• You will provide technical leadership following sales to assist strategic customers in designing and executing big data projects, covering everything from architectural design to data engineering and model deployment.

• Identify and drive new initiatives that enable customers to convert their data into actionable business insights, ensuring these initiatives align with their business objectives for sustained success.

• Architect production-level workloads, which include performance testing and optimization of end-to-end pipeline loads.

• Conduct tutorials and training sessions to foster community adoption (including hackathons, conference presentations, etc.).

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical and technical proficiency in Apache Spark.

• Hands-on experience with Databricks through multiple large-scale projects.

• Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional certification is required.

• Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing big data technologies, such as Hadoop, NoSQL, MPP, OLTP, and OLAP.

• More than 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer or Data Engineer, with skills in query tuning, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and debugging Spark and/or other big data solutions.

• Proficient in programming languages such as Python, Scala, or Java.

• Experience in designing and utilizing solutions on cloud infrastructure and services, including AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Familiarity with Development Tools for CI/CD, Unit and Integration testing, Automation and Orchestration, REST API, BI tools, and SQL Interfaces (e.g., Jenkins).

• Strong communication skills and comfort in presenting to strategic stakeholders and leadership.

• Experience in customer-facing roles, such as pre-sales, post-sales, technical architecture guidance, or consulting.

• A passion for learning new technologies and a commitment to ensuring customer success.

• Desired experience in Data Science/ML Engineering, which includes model selection, model lifecycle management, hyper-parameter tuning, model serving, deep learning, and using tools like MLFlow.
