This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan, +1 more country.
• Serve as a technical consultant throughout the customer journey, from identifying opportunities and designing solutions to delivering projects.
• Comprehend customer business challenges and create customized solutions.
• Lead Proof of Concepts (PoCs), encompassing scoping, planning, configuration, execution, validation, documentation, and results analysis.
• Prepare and present customer and channel-partner presentations, demonstrations, workshops, and technical enablement activities.
• Articulate complex technical concepts clearly to business-oriented stakeholders.
• Evaluate existing systems and workflows.
• Design and recommend solutions, requirement documents, proposals, fit/gap analyses, and ROI evaluations.
• Configure tools, perform platform installations, set up environments, create test data, and manage integrations and customizations.
• Monitor PoC technical and functional performance and collaborate with the HQ technical team to resolve issues.
• Provide deployment proposals for production based on PoC outcomes.
• Empower technical stakeholders and advocate for technologies and solutions as an evangelist.
• Assist channel partners with customer interactions, presentations, demos, technical proposals, PoCs, and solution/roadmap updates.
• Facilitate the transition between pre-sales and delivery by sharing project knowledge and solution designs with delivery teams.
• Engage in project kick-offs and initial workshops.
• Remain involved during projects as a trusted technical advisor and subject matter expert.
• Assist with change management, risk mitigation, user acceptance, and rollouts.
• At least 5 years of experience in Pre-sales, Sales Engineering, Solution Architecture, or Technical Consulting in a customer-facing position.
• Familiarity with industrial products and applications such as PLC, DCS, and HMI.
• Knowledge of platform software/hardware from leading OT vendors, including Mitsubishi Electric, Omron, Yokogawa, Toshiba, Siemens, and Rockwell.
• Understanding of cybersecurity requirements in operational technology (OT) environments.
• Knowledge of IEC 62443, NIST CSF, and ISO 27001 standards.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
• Willingness to travel, including internationally.
• Experience in people management, particularly in a Sales Engineering manager role, is advantageous.
