Senior Software Systems Engineer – Autonomous Vehicles

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Design, assess, and construct architectures for SAE Level 2 to Level 4 driver assistance and autonomous vehicle technologies.

• Define autonomous vehicle interactions concerning vehicle requirements to facilitate data collection for system training and validation.

• Oversee verification activities for autonomous vehicle systems, which include architecture and design validation, test strategy formulation in collaboration with the System Integration & Verification Test Leads, and the assessment and prioritization of test outcomes.

• Lead and present data analysis while collaborating with product and engineering teams to influence design choices related to requirements and system performance needs.

• Create methodologies to evaluate and contrast the effects of ODDs on key performance metrics, converting data and analyses into significant recommendations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

• Over 5 years of demonstrated industry expertise.

• Robust analytical and architectural experience in both development and production environments.

• Background in systems engineering, robotics development, or systems integration and testing.

• Strong leadership and interpersonal abilities, capable of fostering alignment among product development, engineering, and testing teams.

• Familiarity with complex hardware and software systems.

• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering techniques and tools, particularly Magic Cyber Systems Engineer / Cameo.

• Proficiency in software and/or tool development focusing on modeling, analysis, utility languages such as Python, and utilizing AI tools to improve requirement and test coverage analysis.

• Proven success applying the systems V-Model to advanced engineering projects, preferably in advanced driver assistance or autonomous vehicle systems and relevant standards (e.g., ISO 26262).

• Extensive technical expertise in at least one key area of robotic systems development (e.g., sensing, perception, motion control).
