Senior Software Engineering Manager – Texas

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Oversee the engineering organization responsible for the security software suite, which includes Bot, Vision, Studio, and Policy Editor.

• Manage the operational rhythm, staffing responsibilities, release discipline, quality assurance, architectural coordination, and budget management necessary to consistently deliver reliable product value.

• Lead the design, vision, ongoing enhancement, and overall success of Aiden’s software development lifecycle (SDLC).

• Have direct managerial responsibility for the software development team, which encompasses quarterly performance discussions, annual evaluations, coaching, hiring, accountability, and daily team leadership.

• Collaborate closely with the co-Founder & CTO, senior engineering team members, QA, Product, Customer Success, Security, Finance, and other cross-functional partners.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of professional experience in software development.

• At least 5-10 years in project management and leadership positions.

• Proven success in leading multiple work streams and distributed teams with interdependencies across functions.

• Strong technical expertise in modern software development, architectural oversight, SDLC design, and engineering process leadership.

• Demonstrated capability in direct managerial responsibilities, including hiring, coaching, performance management, quarterly discussions, and annual reviews.

• Experience in leading quality-assured release cycles with clear metrics related to timeliness, quality, uptime, and incident response.

• Skilled in managing engineering budgets, vendors/contractors, and making trade-offs between cost, speed, and quality.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, including the capacity to engage with executives, engineers, customers, auditors, and investors.

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum/Azure DevOps or similar development methodologies.

• Experience in leading engineering teams that develop enterprise SaaS, endpoint management, Windows-based systems, cybersecurity products, or IT operations software.
