Senior Software Engineer – Tech Lead, Typescript/React

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the team's technical outcomes, emphasizing code quality, reliability, maintainability, security, and technical execution.

• Guide the technical direction and design within the team's area of expertise.

• Convert product and business challenges into practical technical solutions and oversee their implementation.

• Mentor engineers, offer technical feedback, and elevate the team's engineering standards.

• Leverage AI tools and automation to enhance engineering workflows, quality, and delivery.

• Identify and mitigate technical debt, architectural risks, performance issues, and reliability challenges.

• Diagnose intricate technical problems utilizing debugging, observability, and system-level expertise.

• Integrate quality into the development process through automated testing, code reviews, observability, and continuous feedback.

• Collaborate with Product, QA, Engineering, Staff Engineers, and architects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Substantial, recent experience in building and delivering production software as a hands-on engineer.

• Extensive proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript across the entire stack.

• Familiarity with Node.js, Express, React, and contemporary web development practices.

• Strong background in relational data modeling and SQL (PostgreSQL).

• Expertise in REST API design, asynchronous programming, automated testing, production debugging, and observability.

• Experience in incrementally modernizing legacy systems while maintaining ongoing product operations.

• Proven experience in building and managing integrations and data synchronization between systems.

• Capability to make sensible architectural decisions that balance scalability, reliability, maintainability, and delivery speed.

• Background as a senior technical engineer or technical lead within a team.

• Ability to independently devise technical strategies, assess trade-offs, and drive implementation and delivery.

• Hands-on experience with AI development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar.

• Proficient in utilizing AI for coding, debugging, research, code analysis, and problem-solving.

• Ability to recognize AI and automation opportunities that enhance workflows, team efficiency, and quality.

• Proven track record of mentoring engineers and improving technical capabilities.

• Proficient in communicating technical decisions and trade-offs clearly with Engineering, Product, QA, and other collaborators.

• A collaborative technical leadership style and a mindset focused on continuous improvement.

• Preferred experience with Java/JVM, AngularJS, AWS, LaunchDarkly/OpenFeature, Playwright/Jest, multi-tenant SaaS, CRM, nonprofit, or volunteer management.
